FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. You must possess FSSAI licence before starting any food business. Under FSSAI the authority makes sure that it qualifies the standard laid by the departments and regulates their manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale, repacking & relabeling to ensure availability of safe food to the citizens of the country.
FSSAI is an autonomous body. It was established under the Government of India's Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. By regulating and supervising food safety, FSSAI is responsible for protecting and endorsing public health.
The headquarters of the FSSAI are in New Delhi. The authority also has six regional offices based in Delhi, Guwahati, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Cochin.

Authority letter with name and address of the responsible person.
Proof of possession of premises.
Partnership affidavit of proprietorship.
NOC and Copy of License from the manufacturer.
Food Safety Management System Plan or certificate.
